The entire vehicle has a wider, more athletic presence than a standard Q3. Instead of looking like another compact luxury crossover, the S line gives it the attitude and appearance you expect from an Audi. Pair that with the 19-inch wheels and Black Optics and it completely changes the vehicle.

Then you have the Black Optic Package, and on a black Q3 it is an absolute game changer. The front grille and exterior details receive high-gloss black accents, the bright trim around the windows disappears, the mirrors and exterior accents flow with the rest of the vehicle, and even the roof rails are black. We don't need to make a huge deal about the Premium Plus name itself because what's important is the tremendous amount of equipment it brings.

The adaptive cruise control is one of our biggest must-have features. Instead of old-school cruise simply holding one speed, Audi's system monitors traffic ahead and adjusts your speed to maintain a selected following distance. When traffic slows, the Q3 slows with it; when traffic opens, it accelerates back toward your selected speed. On long freeway drives it dramatically reduces the constant throttle and brake adjustments that wear you out, while making congested traffic much more relaxing. Once you've owned a vehicle with good adaptive cruise control, conventional cruise feels like stepping backward in time.

The Technology Package with Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus is another option we absolutely want. Virtual Cockpit Plus replaces the traditional gauge setup with a beautiful high-resolution digital display capable of showing gauges, navigation, audio, vehicle data, and driver-assistance information directly in front of you. The layouts can be configured depending on what you want to prioritize, and at night it completely changes the atmosphere of the cabin. A basic gauge cluster can immediately make a vehicle feel older. Virtual Cockpit Plus makes this Q3 feel like a current-generation luxury vehicle every time you get behind the wheel.

Then there's the SONOS Premium 3D sound system, which absolutely blows away a basic factory stereo. Audiophiles will appreciate the stronger bass, clean highs, clear vocals, additional depth, and immersive soundstage throughout the cabin. Turn it up and you can actually feel the music without everything becoming muddy or distorted. You don't have to be a music fanatic to appreciate it either.
