Vehicle Description
This 2020 BMW X7 xDrive40i M Sport is one of the most special X7 builds we've had because the spec is absolutely ridiculous. It has a perfectly clean Carfax out of Scottsdale, Arizona, comes with two factory BMW key fobs, and was built with nearly $90,000 in original MSRP before taxes and fees. The configuration is outstanding: $4,350 M Sport Package, $2,450 Tartufo Individual Extended Merino Leather, $1,300 22-inch M wheels, $850 second-row captain's chairs, $750 Multi-Contour Seats, $650 Glass Controls, $500 ventilated front seats, $400 aluminum running boards, $350 Ambient Air Package, $350 Extended Shadowline Trim, Color Changing Interior Ambient Lighting, plus dual panoramic glass, third-row seating, navigation, blind-spot monitoring, backup camera, and more. This is not an ordinary X7. This is a true flagship BMW built with the colors, options, and interior that make the whole vehicle feel incredibly European and expensive.
The M Sport Package completely transforms the X7. You get the more aggressive M Sport front bumper, sculpted side skirts, upgraded rear bumper and diffuser, upgraded suspension, sharper steering components, M Sport steering wheel, sportier seating and interior details, Shadowline exterior trim, Anthracite Alcantara headliner, High-Gloss Shadowline roof rails, and M details throughout. It is not just an appearance package. The stance, steering, suspension, seats, wheels, and entire driver's environment feel dramatically more athletic than a standard X7.
The Shadowline exterior treatment is a huge part of why this build looks so good. BMW replaces the brighter exterior trim with high-gloss black around the windows, black roof rails, darker exterior accents, and Extended Shadowline treatment that carries the black theme into the grille. Against the exterior color and those huge wheels, it gives the X7 a cleaner, lower, more aggressive factory-blackout appearance. The interior color changing ambient lighting is NEXT level and gives that hot Miami night vibe on the interior. Everyone loves that option!
Then there are the 22-inch M Sport wheels, a $1,300 factory option and our favorite wheel package on this generation by far. The larger size fills the X7's massive wheel wells perfectly, while the black accents tie directly into the Extended Shadowline grille, window trim, and roof rails. This is one of those wheel packages that completely changes the stance of the vehicle.
The upgraded M Sport suspension, steering, and braking hardware also matter when you drive it. The X7 is a massive three-row luxury SUV, but the M Sport tuning makes it feel substantially tighter and more composed through corners while still delivering the smooth ride expected from BMW's flagship SUV. The steering feels more direct, the body is better controlled, and the entire vehicle feels much smaller than it actually is.
Inside is where this build becomes truly special. The Tartufo Individual Extended Merino Leather upholstery was a massive $2,450 option, and it is absolutely gorgeous. Tartufo has that rich European brown tone you usually see in much more exotic luxury vehicles, and the Extended Merino treatment covers far more of the cabin in soft premium leather than a standard interior. Combined with the Fineline High Gloss trim, Anthracite Alcantara headliner, ambient lighting, and glass controls, the interior feels more like a high-end European lounge than a traditional SUV.
The Multi-Contour Seats were another $750 option, and they are a game changer for long-distance comfort. They offer a much wider range of power adjustment and support than standard seats, allowing you to dial in the seating position exactly how you want it. Add the $500 ventilated front seats, and you get heated and ventilated comfort with the kind of adjustability that makes a huge difference on long drives.
Then there are BMW's incredible Glass Controls, a $650 factory option and one of our favorite interior details. The faceted crystal-style gear selector looks like a piece of jewelry sitting in the center console, especially when the ambient lighting hits it. But what really makes it special is how it feels in your hand. Every time you grab that shifter, it feels substantial and expensive in a way the standard control simply cannot duplicate.
The second-row captain's chairs were an $850 option and are absolutely the seating configuration to have on a three-row X7. Instead of a traditional bench, rear passengers get individual luxury seating with a convenient walkway between the chairs, making access to the power third row dramatically easier. If you have kids, family, or regularly carry passengers, this is a huge upgrade.
This one also has the upgraded BMW aluminum running boards, a $400 factory option, which make entry and exit much easier while giving the side profile a more substantial, luxury-SUV appearance. They fit the vehicle perfectly because they were designed as factory equipment rather than added later.
The Ambient Air Package was another $350 option, adding to an already incredible cabin atmosphere. BMW's interior lighting and air-management features make the cabin feel noticeably more upscale, especially at night when the ambient lighting glows throughout the doors and dashboard.
The dual panoramic moonroof opens the entire interior up and gives both second- and third-row passengers a much better view of the sky. With the dark Alcantara headliner and Tartufo leather, the glass roof keeps the cabin from ever feeling closed in and makes the whole interior feel even more luxurious.
You also get heated and ventilated front seats, third-row seating, backup camera, Blind Spot Monitor, Lane Departure Warning, keyless start, navigation, power seats, driver memory, multi-zone climate control, rear climate controls, privacy glass, rain-sensing wipers, and all the premium convenience equipment expected from a flagship BMW.
Under the hood is BMW's coveted 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-six, paired with xDrive all-wheel drive. The engine is silky smooth, strong, and refined, while xDrive gives you the confidence you want in rain, snow, mountain passes, and changing road conditions. It is one of BMW's best drivetrain combinations and perfectly suited to the size and character of the X7.
The M Sport steering wheel is another must-have and one of our favorites in the game. The thicker rim, sculpted grip, premium leather, and M details make it feel substantially better in your hands than the standard wheel. It is something you interact with every second you're driving, and it makes the whole cockpit feel more performance-oriented.
Most importantly, the history matches the build. This is a perfectly clean Carfax Arizona vehicle out of Scottsdale with no accidents or blemishes, two factory BMW keys, and a specification that would have cost nearly $90,000 when new before taxes and fees. Finding an X7 is easy. Finding one with this interior, this wheel package, this equipment, and this clean history is a completely different story.
Combine the M Sport Package, 22-inch M wheels, Extended Shadowline, Tartufo Individual Extended Merino Leather, Multi-Contour Seats, heated and ventilated front seats, Glass Controls, captain's chairs, aluminum running boards, Ambient Air Package, dual panoramic roof, third-row seating, Fineline High Gloss trim, xDrive AWD, two factory keys, clean Scottsdale Carfax, and nearly $90,000 original build, and you have one seriously special 2020 BMW X7 xDrive40i M Sport. This is the kind of flagship X7 that feels special every single time you open the door.
