Vehicle Description
This 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe Premier RST Sport is an absolute bad boy and about as loaded as you could possibly want one. Finished in the coveted black-on-black color combination, this isn't your ordinary Premier. It has the highly desirable RST 6.2L Performance Edition, giving you the monster 6.2-liter V8 paired with the 10-speed automatic transmission, along with the RST Edition, Preferred Equipment Group 1LZ, Sun, Entertainment & Destinations Package, Adaptive Cruise Control, Head-Up Display, power retractable running boards, rare red Brembo performance brakes, 22-inch gloss-black wheels, Bose premium audio, heated and ventilated seats, second-row captain's chairs, and full third row. It's also in excellent condition inside and out. If you're looking for the Tahoe that has the looks, luxury, performance, and equipment, this is the one.
The biggest deal is the RST 6.2L Performance Edition. Instead of the standard Tahoe engine, you get Chevrolet's coveted 6.2-liter V8, backed by the 10-speed automatic transmission. This package also brings the high-capacity air cleaner and upgraded alternator, creating a completely different driving experience from the ordinary Tahoe. The 6.2 has the effortless low-end torque and passing power you want in a full-size SUV, while the additional gears in the 10-speed keep it responsive and smooth whether you're around town, towing, or cruising down the freeway.
Another huge advantage with this configuration is the selectable 4WD system, allowing you to choose 2HI for normal dry-road driving rather than being locked into a full-time AWD configuration like you'll find in certain comparable Denali and Escalade setups. That gives you the ability to run it as a rear-wheel-drive Tahoe when conditions allow, then select four-wheel drive when you actually need it. For us, that's one of the coolest advantages of this particular 6.2-liter Tahoe configuration.
Then there is the RST Edition, which completely changes the personality of the exterior. You get the massive 22-inch gloss-black aluminum wheels with custom silver accents, gloss-black sport grille with body-color surround, black beltline moldings, black roof rails, black mirror caps, black Chevrolet bow-tie emblems, and additional dark exterior detailing. On a black Tahoe, everything flows together beautifully and gives it the sinister factory-blackout appearance everybody is trying to achieve aftermarket.
The rare red Brembo performance brake package is the perfect finishing touch. Not only do those huge red calipers look incredible sitting behind the black 22-inch wheels, they provide the additional braking performance you want when you're moving a big SUV with a 6.2-liter V8. The black wheels with those bright red Brembos showing through completely set this Tahoe off.
Being a Premier with Preferred Equipment Group 1LZ means this Tahoe is loaded with luxury equipment. You get heated and ventilated front bucket seats, heated second-row seats, power-folding second and third rows, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, memory settings, keyless access, push-button start, power liftgate, tri-zone automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, wireless charging, Bose premium audio, premium leather seating, and extensive power equipment throughout. This is a legitimate luxury SUV hiding underneath a Chevrolet badge.
The seating configuration is another huge selling point. This one has the sought-after second-row captain's chairs rather than a bench, giving rear passengers their own individual seats and creating an easy walkway into the full third-row seating. Whether you're hauling kids, adults, or taking a road trip, this is the seating configuration everybody wants in a full-size three-row SUV.
The Sun, Entertainment & Destinations Package adds even more equipment, including the power sunroof, rear-seat entertainment system, and upgraded Chevrolet infotainment/navigation system. The rear entertainment setup is fantastic for kids on longer drives, while the factory navigation and infotainment system keep everything integrated cleanly into the dashboard.
This one also has the Head-Up Display, which is an absolute game changer in a vehicle like this. Your speed and important driving information are projected directly into your natural field of vision, allowing you to keep your eyes on the road instead of constantly looking down at the instrument cluster. Once you've owned a vehicle with a good HUD, it's incredibly difficult to go back.
Adaptive Cruise Control is another feature we absolutely love. Instead of constantly adjusting your cruise control as traffic speeds up and slows down, the system can automatically adjust your speed to maintain a selected following distance. On long freeway drives it dramatically reduces fatigue, and once you've owned adaptive cruise, ordinary cruise control feels like a major step backward.
The Premier also brings an impressive safety package with features such as Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Front and Rear Park Assist, Safety Alert Seat, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, plus the rear backup camera. For a full-size SUV sitting on 22-inch wheels, the parking and blind-spot technology makes everyday driving considerably easier.
The Bose premium stereo system is another must-have. Audiophiles will appreciate the additional power, cleaner highs, stronger bass, and better separation compared with the basic system. Even if you're primarily listening to podcasts or audiobooks, voices sound noticeably more crisp, clean, and detailed. Add Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and your music, navigation, phone calls, messages, and favorite apps integrate directly into the infotainment system.
It also has the equipment that makes a Tahoe such an incredible everyday vehicle, including heated and air-conditioned front seats, heated steering wheel, remote start, Bluetooth, navigation, power accessories, premium interior materials, multiple USB connections, towing equipment, trailer brake controller and towing calibration, along with the additional cooling and electrical capability associated with this heavily optioned configuration.
What makes this one special is how all of these packages work together. A regular Tahoe Premier is already an incredibly well-equipped SUV. Add the RST appearance treatment and suddenly it looks dramatically better. Add the 6.2L Performance Edition and now it has the engine and 10-speed transmission everybody wants. Add 22-inch black wheels and red Brembos and it has the stance and brakes to match. Then add adaptive cruise, HUD, power running boards, Bose audio, rear entertainment, panoramic-style luxury equipment, captain's chairs, third-row seating, heated and ventilated seats, and selectable 4WD, and you've got the total package.
Combine the black-on-black color combination, Premier 1LZ equipment, RST Edition, RST 6.2L Performance Edition, 6.2-liter V8, 10-speed transmission, selectable 2WD/4WD, 22-inch gloss-black wheels, red Brembo brakes, blacked-out exterior, Adaptive Cruise Control, Head-Up Display, power retractable running boards, Bose audio, navigation, rear entertainment, sunroof, heated and ventilated seats, captain's chairs, full third row, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, advanced safety equipment, and exceptional condition, and this is one seriously special 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe Premier. This is about as close as you can get to building the ultimate factory Tahoe from this generation.
